If you’re getting married in the next few months, you have probably already selected your wedding flowers. Either way, if you’re anything like me, you will never tire of looking at beautiful handcrafted bouquets and button holes. With this in mind, I’ve teamed up with the super lovely Kate from Lily and Myrtle to bring you a look at the floral trends for Spring 2016.
As this new season approaches, we’re seeing a trend towards the freshly picked garden feel. This means bouquets and button holes with natural stems and flowing ribbon trails.
Table centres are made from a collection of vases and vessels or traditional vases wrapped with foliage such as moss or bark to again provide a natural feel to the designs.
The following images show three different routes; all very different but they still have the same underlying feel.
1) To continue with the popular colour palette of palest pinks, soft greys with a touch of silver giving a vintage glamour to the design. This style would complement a stylish Manor House venue, a sweetheart lace detailed fish tale dress with a hint of the 1930’s.
2) This style would suit a country barn venue. It’s Victoriana in style with flowers and foliage used to symbolise the following:
Fern –Fascination
Myrtle –Love and Joy
Tulips – Perfect Lover
Forget me nots
The colour palette of moody purple and blues are picked from a heath land and complement the trend of blue bridesmaid dresses.
3) These flowers would work particularly well for an outdoor woodland festival wedding. Kate describes them as ‘woodland wonder’. They would look fantastic next to a floaty Bohemian wedding dress, and where the Groom is in tweed, rather than a suit and tie. The colour palette is one of pure whites, silver, greys and twig browns.
I hope this provides you or someone you know with some inspiration… x
